The DOM Mentoring Awards are given each year to acknowledge the contributions of outstanding mentors across the Department of Medicine. We'd like to thank the below individuals for making an impact in the lives of our faculty and trainees. They were recognized at the DOM Town Hall on April 8, 2025.

FREDERICK L. BRANCATI EXCELLENCE IN MENTORING AWARD

For early-stage faculty (Assistant Professor or early Associate Professor--within 3 years of promotion)

Dr. Thorsten Leucker​, associate professor in the Division of Cardiology

  • “Dr. Leucker is attentive, considerate, always tries his hardest to put his mentees in the path of success irrespective of the mentees' ultimate goal."
  • "He is a great listener and is an astute clinician with exceptional bedside manner, and it is a pleasure to observe him interact with patients.”

DAVID M. LEVINE EXCELLENCE IN MENTORING AWARD

For mid-career and senior faculty (late Associate Professor and Professor)

Dr. Wendy Post​, professor ​in the Division of Cardiology
