We are thrilled to announce that Christian Hartman will serve as Chief Administrative Officer for the Department of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and The Johns Hopkins Hospital, effective June 16.
Christian brings over two decades of experience in healthcare administration and financial leadership, with a proven track record of driving strategic growth, operational efficiency and financial performance across complex clinical enterprises. Christian earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Frostburg State University. He began his career working for Exemplary Performance, LLC, where he rose through the ranks to become the manager of financial business operations. He joined Johns Hopkins in 2012 as a senior financial analyst for the DOM where he developed tools and procedures to report and track budget variances and year-end forecasting. In 2014, Christian joined the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology as finance manager, where he led a team responsible for developing business plans for significant program expansion in Columbia and Green Spring Station. Most recently, Christian has served as division administrator of GI, where he has led clinical and research operations across multiple sites in Maryland and the National Capital Region, improving scheduling, provider optimization and endoscopy utilization. In his new role, Christian will lead administrative and operational functions with a focus on strategic alignment, fiscal stewardship and service excellence across our organization.
