We are pleased to announce that Kwisha Patel has been named Division Administrator for the Divisions of Rheumatology, Bayview General Internal Medicine, and Bayview Palliative Care at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Kwisha joined Johns Hopkins in 2022 as Senior Administrative Manager, where she has played a central role in strengthening operational infrastructure, driving financial strategy, and fostering collaboration across clinical and research programs. She has led key improvements to the divisions’ financial and research administration, including a redesign of the budget and grants management model that has strengthened oversight, improved continuity, and positioned the divisions for long-term sustainability. Her work has enabled clearer alignment between funding and effort, supported complex grant portfolios, and built the infrastructure needed to support continued growth. She has also advanced faculty and staff recruitment efforts by developing scalable processes and ensuring alignment with divisional priorities.
Before joining Johns Hopkins, Kwisha completed an administrative fellowship at Hartford HealthCare, where she trained under senior leadership in the Office of the Chief Clinical Officer. There, she led enterprise-wide initiatives focused on quality improvement, health equity, and organizational learning, contributing to measurable gains in patient care and system performance. She earned a Master of Health Administration from Penn State University and is known for her strategic mindset, collaborative leadership, and commitment to building inclusive, high-performing teams.
