Dr. Corey Tapper, assistant professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine Section of Palliative Medicine, was recently named the program director for Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Tapper joined Hopkins in 2019 and has served as program director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship. He earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York, during which time he also served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During his time in Pittsburgh, he also achieved a master's degree in medical education.
In 2023, Dr. Tapper was selected to serve on the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Item-Writing Task Force for the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 2022, he was named Associate Program Director for Wellness for the Osler Medical Residency. His interests lie in providing compassionate and holistic care for those with serious illness. He is also enthusiastic about graduate medical education with a focus on curriculum development and teaching communication skills.
