We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dimitri Tito, assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at JHBMC, as Co-Director of the Global Health Pathway, where he will serve alongside Dr. Yuka Manabe.
Dr. Tito succeeds Dr. Sammy Zakaria, who worked closely with Dr. Manabe to strengthen and expand the pathway. Together, they helped shape it into a transformative program that mentors residents and prepares them to become leaders in global health. The pathway emphasizes ethical engagement, sustainable program design, and scholarly inquiry focused on health equity and systems improvement.
Dr. Tito brings extensive experience in global health, including his leadership of URBACAM-D, a community-based initiative in Cameroon that screens for cardiometabolic disease risk factors in underserved urban populations. This work reflects his commitment to community-driven research and culturally sensitive care.
His innovative approach to education and global health will be instrumental in guiding residents toward impactful careers in global health.
Please welcome Dr. Tito to this important leadership role and celebrate the continued growth of the Global Health Pathway.
