Inaugural DMV Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy Symposium

In December, the members of the Department of Medicine co-hosted the Inaugural DMV Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy Symposium with medical institutions in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia in College Park, Maryland. The Heart Failure Society of America endorsed conference brought together over 130 trainees, allied health professionals, physicians, and colleagues from across the field and region. The agenda included four primary sessions, including representation from multidisciplinary teams at Johns Hopkins and a keynote presentation by Dr. Mat Maurer, an international expert and thought leader in amyloidosis.

Colleagues and trainees from across the School of Medicine, including Cardiology, Rheumatology, Neurology, Radiology, and Nursing joined together to make this inaugural conference a success. Members of the Division of Cardiology involved include Dr. Nisha Gilotra, conference co-chair and associate professor, Dr. Joban Vaishnav, assistant professor, Dr. Allison Hays, associate professor, Dr. Kavita Sharma, associate professor, Dr. Rani Hasan, Dr. Konstantinos Aronis, assistant professor, Cherie Ann Livingston, clinical nurse, Sarah Riley, nurse practitioner manager, and Brittney Murray, genetic counselor manager, as well as Dr. Kristen Mathias, instructor in the Division of Rheumatology, and Dr. Claire Brookmeyer, assistant professor of radiology, and Dr. Michael Polydefkis, professor of neurology.
