Roberta Florido, fellow in the Division of Cardiology, was selected to receive the 2018 PJ Schafer Award from the PJ Schafer Cardiovascular Research Fund. The award was established in memory of PJ Schafer who died of premature heart disease suddenly while playing lacrosse in college. His parents and the community have been raising money to present this annual award to a junior faculty member who is doing research into the prevention of heart disease and sudden cardiac death.
