Natalia Trayanova, joint appointment in Medicine, and Allison Hays, associate professor in the Division of Cardiology, received a new National Science Foundation grant that is titled "Prediction of Cardiac Dysfunction in COVID-19 Patients Using Machine Learning." Dr. Trayanova is PI (Biomedical Engineering) and Dr. Hays is co-investigator. It is a one year award ($195,000) starting May 1 to use a machine learning algorithm to predict cardiac injury and adverse cardiovascular events in COVID-19 patients.
