Brancati Center Seeking Education Director

The Director of Education for the Johns Hopkins Brancati Center for the Advancement of Community Care (Brancati Center) will work closely with the Executive Director, the Directors of Community-based Research and Community Program Implementation, and the Center Program Director to achieve the goals of the Center. The Director will be a FT or PT faculty member at The Johns Hopkins University, most likely at the School of Medicine, Public Health or Nursing, who has training and/or experience in health-oriented education, as well as experience working with the Baltimore community, or other community partners.

The mission of the Brancati Center is to improve the health of communities – locally and nationally– by developing, evaluating, and disseminating new models of health care that leverage the skills of a diverse range of healthcare providers. For more information please see our website: www.brancaticenter.com, where you can also download a copy of our most recent annual report.

The goals of the education arm of the Brancati Center are to support novel educational programs that 1) Address community health education needs, 2) Enhance experiences and training for youth pursuing careers in health care with the goal of diversifying the workforce, and 3) Enrich training for undergraduate and postgraduate students in community-based and population health strategies to promote health equity.

The Director of Education will assume and implement ongoing educational programs, working steadfastly to improve and expand them as needed. They will also develop, evaluate and (when shown effective) implement new educational programs to achieve the goals of the Education Arm and the mission of the Brancati Center. This person will work with the other Center Directors and staff, Core and Associate Faculty members and recruit others to join their efforts. They are expected to participate in writing grant proposals and to disseminate the Center’s work in both presentations and publications.

The education director will receive 10-15% FTE support (depending on current roles and funding). It is expected that over time, at least some of the support will come from outside the Brancati Center through grants, contracts or other support.

Interested individuals should submit an updated CV and cover letter that outlines their qualifications and vision for the position, as well as a plan for what activities and commitments would be reduced in order to accept this position, to Jeanne Clark ([email protected]) and Megan Brown ([email protected]) on or before noon on Monday, August 9, 2021.
