Ambulatory: Closing Erroneous Encounters
- Close your erroneous encounters by following one of these two workflows:
- When no note/documentation has been entered:
- Remove existing Reason for Visit [Chief Complaint] in the Visit Info. section of the Rooming tab.
- Add “Erroneous Encounter [ERROR]” and click Sign Encounter.
- When erroneously documented information has been entered:
- Enter and favorite the Erroneous Encounter SmartSet in the Plan tab [this automatically adds the error Diagnosis, Reason for Visit, Note, and Level of Service].
- Remove all erroneously documented information from the encounter [i.e. your note].
- Add the ‘.err’ SmartPhrase in place of your note and Sign the encounter.

Ambulatory: Telemedicine Hot Topics – States of Emergency Telehealth Services Updates [Data as of 1/20/2022, Noon]
- The National Public Health Emergency [PHE] has been extended to mid-January 2022. Emergency orders/states of emergency have expired in many states, affecting providers’ ability to perform telemedicine visits for out-of-state patients:
- New Jersey: licensure waiver extension until further notice
- New York: licensure waiver extension to 1/25/2022
- Pennsylvania: licensure waiver extension to 3/31/2022
- Virginia: waiver to treat established patients to 2/11/2022
- Washington, D.C.: licensure waiver extension to August 10, 2022. If you are not vaccinated against COVID-19 you must fill out attestation form here.
- Refer to legal FAQs for information related to individual state waivers and licensing requirements.

- During the COVID pandemic, Inpatient telemedicine adds needed clinical services that would otherwise be unavailable, either due to a general lack of specialty availability or due to staffing shortages.

Inpatient: Inpatient Notes Missing Charges
- These reports no longer function when run from a dashboard. Instead, follow the steps below:
- Using Chart Search [magnifier top right under Log out], enter ‘Reports’ [do not click enter].
- Select ‘My Reports’ from the drop down. Click on the Library tab on the left.
- Search for "note charge" and favorite those reports of interest.
- Hover over the desired report, then click "Run" to the right of the report description

Inpatient & Ambulatory: Chart Review - New Scanned Date Column in Media tab
- The Scanned Date column displays recently scanned items and is positioned to the left in the Media tab.
- The Encounter date column displays to the far right.
- No date will display when scanning Patient level and eSign documents.
