Named for a Johns Hopkins pioneer in the care of older adults, the Mason F. Lord Staff Awards go to four of the top performing staff members within the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology each year to recognize them in the care for our special population of patients. The four categories: Leadership, Creativity/Innovation, Safety/Service and Performance Excellence embody the pillars of care for our patients each and every day in the division.
As Division Administrator, I’m delighted to be able to recognize Brandon, Talan, Jeannette and Monique for the work they have put in this past year and the dedication they have shown to our patient population. As a new member of the division myself, I am astounded with the selfless service and servant leadership shown by all of our staff members each day and their ability to rise to each challenge thrown at them. The committee, made up of five faculty members in the division, had a lot of wonderful things to say about each of our award winners, and the decisions were not made easily. We received over 20 nominations for these four awards from both faculty and staff, and the committee had the arduous task of picking only four.
I’m lucky to be a member of this wonderful team, and excited about the opportunity to take time to recognize their efforts at the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology Town Hall in June.
