Purekal Elected President of Maryland-DC Society of Addiction Medicine

Dr. Sophia Purekal, assistant professor in the Division of Addiction Medicine, was elected president of the Maryland-DC Society of Addiction Medicine. As a Chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, MDDCSAM advocates as the voice of addiction medicine in Annapolis and Washington D.C., leading the movement to transform addiction treatment infrastructure and expand access to research-validated, results-based care.
