Zero TB in Kids in Mongolia

Dr. Kunchok Dorjee, assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, recently traveled to the remote mountains of Mongolia to launch the Zero TB in Kids project in the Zavkhan Province.

The project aims to eliminate tuberculosis, a disease that has plagued the community for decades. At a time of uncertainty in global health, Dr. Dorjee collaborated with the National TB Program, the Governor’s Office, the Health Department of the Zavkhan Province, and the Diluv Hutugthu Foundation to launch this project. He met with stakeholders, including the National TB Program director in the Ministry of Health, the local health department, and the Governor, and provided training and orientation to the doctors, nurses, teachers, and students. They even began screening for TB in a local monastery and school.

Dr. Dorjee welcomes JHU faculty and students to visit the Zavkhan Province as part of this collaborative initiative.
