Brian Garibaldi, assistant professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, was recently awarded the Jeremiah A. Barondess Fellowship by the New York Academy of Medicine.
In 2003, Jeremiah A. Barondess, M.D., president of the New York Academy of Medicine, led a successful program on "Enhancing Education for the Clinical Transaction." To honor the visionary role of Barondess, the New York Academy of Medicine established the Jeremiah A. Barondess Fellowships to perpetuate his dedication to the clinical transaction by inviting both clinical faculty and medical students to participate in an ongoing program designed to preserve the integrity of the patient-physician relationship in the face of continuing change in the practice of medicine.
