The Department of Medicine took home all but three of the Institute for Excellence in Education's (IEE) Awards for Outstanding Achievement at their ceremony last Friday. This is a testament to our department's incredible educators in all stages of their careers.
Congratulations to all of the following faculty members:
- David Kern, professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, won the Martin D. Abeloff Award for Lifetime Achievement in Medical and Biomedical Education
- Brian Garibaldi, assistant professor in the Division of Pulmonary, won the Lisa J.Heiser Award for Junior Faculty Contribution in Education
- Colleen Christmas, associate professor in the Division of Geriatrics, won the Educational Scholarship Award
- Colleen Christmas, Ariel Green and Panagis Galiatsatos won the Educational Program Award for their program: Medicine for the Greater Good
- Anastasia Rowland-Seymour, assistant professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, won the Teaching Award for Faculty at Rank Fewer that 10 Years
- Sharon Dlhosh, instructor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, won the Teaching Award for Part-Time Faculty

It was also announced that Brian Garibaldi and Timothy Niessen, assistant professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, were awarded the Berkheimer Faculty Education Scholar Grant to support further developments and expansion of the general medical service curriculum.
