Donna Bower, BSBA, was named the division administrator and research manager for Clinical Pharmacology. Born and raised in Maryland, her first university position was here at JHU. A career move for Donna’s husband took her and her family to Arizona where she began working at the University of Arizona as a program coordinator at the Optical Sciences Center. There she enrolled at the Eller College of Management. While completing her degree program, she worked as a management intern assisting in setting up the business and administrative infrastructure of a new start-up company in photonic technology. After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, she was offered a position as the senior business manager in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering where in addition to academic administration, Donna oversaw the pre- and post-awards of a Department of Defense heavy research program. When she returned to Maryland she began working at the University of Maryland, first as director of administrative services and then as an administrator in the School of Medicine where she oversaw a largely NIH based pre- and post-award program in addition to basic science administration. Most recently, she’s been working as a licensed realtor in Howard County. Although still a licensed realtor, Donna missed the collegial, fast-paced environment of a large university and is pleased to join the division of Clinical Pharmacology.
