What began in 2011 as an IBM-led school transformation initiative has now spread to over 60 schools in the US and Australia. One of the first Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools in the state of Maryland, PTECH at Dunbar, is seeking industry mentors. Through the work of education and industry partnerships, mentoring, career exposure and with a 9-14 school model, PTECH students pursue a high school diploma and associate’s degree in health sciences simultaneously. PTECH at Dunbar is currently seeking mentors for a cohort of 50 freshman for this school year. Mentors are encouraged to make 3-4 in-person contacts with their mentee each year, but are certainly welcomed to connect more frequently! Weekly communication is encouraged (phone, email, text).
