What Happens When the Weather is Bad?

Now in the cold days of January, winter storms are always a possibility. This is the time to review the Inclement Weather guidelines. Below is the updated version sent by Ambulatory Services. These policies apply to ambulatory clinics. Decisions regarding closures are made by the Incident Command Team with leadership representation present for JHH, Bayview and off-site clinics involved.

Most importantly, each clinic location should have an Ambulatory Weather Triad (typically an administrator, physician and nursing representative for the area), which oversees staffing, operational and communication issues during weather events.

Each clinic should update ambulatory leadership with the name and contact information for their Ambulatory Weather Triad if there have been recent changes.

Please take a moment to read the guidelines. Here’s hoping for an early spring!!
