Michael Choi, professor in the Division of Nephrology, was elected the 23rd president of the National Kidney Foundation in October. This honor follows his receipt of the NKF's Garabed Eknoyan Award in 2015 as well as his term as vice chair of education for the foundation's Kidney Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative (KDOQI) and leadership on the board of directors. During his presidency, Dr. Choi plans to continue to focus on education and remains determined to increase the awareness of kidney disease.
