Happy belated Valentine’s Day! I hope you had a fabulous holiday. If not, there's always St. Patrick’s Day!
I don’t know about you, but I am loving the weather. In fact, it won’t be long until spring arrives. As we look forward to spring and summer, we will begin preparing for the FY18 budget. Looking back on our 2017 budget goals, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the nursing units. As you may recall, our goal was to reduce agency use. We value our agency colleagues, but we prefer our Hopkins-trained nurses. It is through your efforts the DOM is on a path to reduce this expense (see below chart). This is a very big deal! As you can see, we are on our way to being agency free. I do not recall the last time we were agency free. Thank you for all your hard work and commitment to making the Department of Medicine the best! We could not achieve these goals without you!
