Larry Appel, professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, was elected as a Distinguished Scientist of the American Heart Association (AHA). This designation was created in 2003 to honor AHA/ASA members who have made extraordinary contributions to cardiovascular and stroke research. Larry will be recognized at the AHA Scientific Sessions in Chicago in November.
