After serving two years on the Board of Trustees, Elizabeth Ratchford, associate professor in the Division of Cardiology, was recently elected to the Executive Board as Secretary of the Society for Vascular Medicine. She will also serve as the chair of the Membership Committee. Founded in 1989, the Society for Vascular Medicine aims to improve the integration of vascular biological advances into medical practice and to maintain high standards of clinical vascular medicine. Since 2014, Dr. Ratchford has also served as the co-editor of the Patient Information Page for Vascular Medicine, the official journal of SVM. The Patient Pages are freely available for download at www.vascularmed.org and cover more than 30 cardiovascular topics ranging from direct oral anticoagulants to popliteal entrapment to statins.
