After conducting a national recruitment, we are thrilled to announce that Becky Hanst, MS, MBA has been selected to be the Grants & Contracts Administrator for the Department of Medicine effective October 16, 2020. Her past experience and vision to lead the DOM sponsored team makes us certain she is the right person for the job and will have much success in this role.
Becky received her bachelor's degree in management from Clemson University, and earned two master's degrees from Johns Hopkins University. She came to Hopkins in 1995 as part of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery and worked her way up from a budget analyst to financial manager. She then worked in the Johns Hopkins University Budget Office before returning to the Department of Neurology where she was named an assistant administrator in 2002. She was the administrator of Environmental Health Sciences in the Bloomberg School of Public Health before joining the Department of Medicine as the division administrator of the Division of General Internal Medicine in 2009. In 2015, Becky was named assistant director of finance for the Department of Medicine. In this role, she has taken on everything from administrative and operational leadership to financial reporting, budget oversight, program planning and more.
In her 25 years at Hopkins and 11 years with the DOM, Becky has proven to be a devoted collaborator with varied skills and a strong ability to lead. Please join us in welcoming her to her new role as she takes on this new challenge with the DOM sponsored team.
