18th Annual Miller Lecture

Dr. Suzanne Koven , MD, MFA will deliver the 18th annual Miller Lecture on Tuesday, May 4th at Noon (as Medical Grand Rounds at Johns Hopkins Bayview, via Zoom—see below).

Dr. Koven is an Associate Professor of Harvard Medical School, a primary care physician at MGH, and the inaugural Writer in Residence at MGH.  Suzanne received her MD from Hopkins and was a resident and ACS on the Osler Medical Service at JHH.

Suzanne is a pioneer in the field of “narrative medicine,” which encourages health care providers to consider writing and storytelling as a prescriptive tonic for introspection and empathy. She is the talented author of several books, essays, articles and reviews. Her newest essay collection, “Letter to a Young Female Physician” was first published as an article in the New England Journal of Medicine, has struck a deep and resonant chord, and will be published in book form the day of the Miller Lecture.

The Miller Lecture is made possible by the generosity of Anne G. Miller, Sarah Miller Coulson, Leslie A. Miller, and Richard Worley.
