Langlotz Named CNO/VP of Nursing at HCGH

Dr. Ron Langlotz, DNP, RN, has been named vice president of nursing/chief nursing officer at Howard County General Hospital, effective Monday, Feb. 14. He will be responsible for inpatient nursing units as well as Emergency Services, Women’s and Children’s Services, Ancillary Services, Clinical Education and patient care staffing and operations.

Ron has served in this role in an interim capacity since Oct. 2021 and will continue focusing on growing and developing nursing staff and helping to provide high-quality care to our patients. He became the director of nursing for the Departments of Medicine and Radiology in March 2015. During that time, he expertly led our medical nursing units and nursing administration at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He began his Hopkins career 24 years ago as a clinical nurse in the Department of Psychiatry, transitioned to the Neuro-Critical Care Unit, then moved to the Emergency Department's critical care transport team. He simultaneously served in the U.S. Navy as a nurse corps officer for more than 27 years.

Eleni Flanagan, MSN, MBA, RN-BC, will continue to serve as interim director of nursing while we conduct a search for a permanent director. She has proven to be a proficient leader over the past few months serving as interim director in Ron's absence. We are grateful for her hard work and loyalty to the DOM.
