Several of our hospitals received specific recognition for the provision of care within the regions they serve. Locally, The Johns Hopkins Hospital ranked #1 in all 15 medical specialties in both Maryland and Baltimore. Suburban Hospital ranked #7 for best hospitals in Maryland. Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital tied for #7 in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region.
With regard to performance in the “common care” conditions and procedures, all our adult-care hospitals, including Howard County General Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, earned the highest designation, “high performing,” in at least six of those conditions and procedures.
Every year, U.S. News modifies the methodology it uses to determine how hospitals are rated. The changes sometimes result in a reordering of the top 10 hospitals’ rankings. However, one thing that remains constant is our commitment to the patients who come to us for the best in health care diagnosis and treatment for their common and complex diseases and illnesses. We truly appreciate all you do each and every day.
