Abdi Named Medical Director for Ambulatory Services at JHH

Dr. Tsion Abdi, assistant professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, was recently named Medical Director for Ambulatory Services at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.  In this role, she will work in partnership with physicians, nursing and administrative leaders to continue to improve the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered ambulatory care. Dr. Abdi will collaborate with clinical departments on the East Baltimore campus and the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians to integrate ambulatory services across Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Thankfully, Dr. Abdi will continue her role as clinical director of the Division of Gastroenterology--a role she has held since 2020, during which time she has worked to create and improve service lines to deliver innovative, high-quality care. Dr. Abdi joined the Hopkins faculty in GI in 2016, and has a passion for education and clinical leadership. Since 2018, she has been the program director for the Gastrointestinal Motility and Neurogastroenterology program. She became a local leader for clinical operations at Knoll North in Columbia, Maryland, where she worked with local partners to improve patient access and care.
