Hawes, McDermeit and Rayapati Inducted into Distinguished Teaching Society

The Distinguished Teaching Society of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, also known as DTS, is a student-organized honor society for outstanding clinical educators. The society utilizes a rigorous, literature-based, student-created rubric for judging student-submitted nominations for induction into the society. The DTS Judge Committee then reviews nominations from the student body to determine the inductees this year.

After a rigorous judging process, the below individuals from the DOM were selected for meeting the highest standards in clinical teaching excellence.

  • Dr. Armani Hawes, junior assistant resident in the Osler Medical Residency
  • Dr. Jesse McDermeit, instructor in the Division of General Internal Medicine
  • Dr. Divya Rayapati, fellow in the Division of Gastroenterology
