New Leadership Roles in the Osler Medical Residency

Dr. Kristina Montemayor has been named the next Senior Associate Program Director and Associate Program Director for Evaluation and Assessment of the Osler Medical Residency. Dr. Montemayor will succeed Dr. Heather Sateia, whose efforts in these roles significantly advanced the Osler Medical Residency.

In addition, Dr. John Woller has been named Associate Program Director for Beside Medicine and Clinical Reasoning of the Osler Medical Residency. Dr. Woller currently serves as Associate Program Director for Clinical Reasoning, and is succeeding Dr. Brian Garibaldi as Associate Program Director for Bedside Medicine. Dr. Garibaldi built the bedside medicine program as it is known today in the Osler Medical Residency.

Since joining faculty in 2020, Dr. Montemayor has developed a distinguished track record with undergraduate and graduate medical education at the regional and national level. At the residency level, she has served as a Clinical Coach for the Osler Medical Residency, and during her second year of faculty she was appointed Longcope Firm Faculty Leader. This role includes extensive teaching, assessment, coaching and support of one quarter of our house staff throughout their residency. Her contributions were recognized with the Housestaff Faculty Mentor Award this past year. At the fellowship level, she has served as an Associate Fellowship Program Director for Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine since joining faculty and has been integral with fellowship recruitment, education and coaching initiatives.

Dr. John Woller is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at JHH. Originally from Decatur, Alabama, he a earned a Bachelor of Music from Vanderbilt University followed by a Master of Music in piano performance at the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory. He earned a medical degree from Emory University before coming to Hopkins to complete residency training in the Osler Medical Residency in 2020. Since then, John has been a general internist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. John served as Assistant Chief of Service for the Longcope Firm 2022-2023, and  has since assumed the role of Associate Program Director for Clinical Reasoning with the Osler program.

We are grateful to Dr. Sateia and Dr. Garibaldi for their many years of service to the Osler Medical Residency. They have both mentored countless residents and made the program better and stronger through their efforts. We look forward to their continued engagement in the program as distinguished leadership alumni.
