Most recently, Priyanka served as senior director in the Department of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she helped oversee an $80M+ clinical, research, and academic enterprise. In this role, she partnered closely with departmental and institutional leadership to strengthen operational performance, support business development, build research infrastructure, and advance faculty development across multiple subspecialties.
Priyanka has extensive experience leading undergraduate medical education and graduate medical education training programs, including curriculum design, assessment, and the implementation of simulation-based education. Her work has included developing and overseeing hands-on training using cadaveric and animal models, as well as integrating simulation into procedural education to enhance technical skills, patient safety, and trainee preparedness. She has worked closely with program directors and faculty educators to align educational initiatives with accreditation standards and evolving clinical practice. In addition, she brings deep experience managing complex, high-acuity clinical programs, optimizing access and workflow, and providing strategic oversight for large research portfolios, including the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, and foundation funding. Her work consistently focuses on aligning the clinical, research, and educational missions to advance institutional priorities and improve patient care.
Priyanka holds a doctorate in education from Johns Hopkins University and is deeply committed to collaborative leadership, operational excellence, and supporting faculty and trainee success. She is excited to have joined the Division of Cardiology effective January 26 and looks forward to contributing to its continued clinical, educational, and academic excellence.
