We are pleased to announce that Kate Walls has accepted our offer to serve as Sr. Divisional Administrator for the Department of Medicine Director’s Office, with an expected start date of April 13, 2026.
Kate brings a deep understanding of the Department of Medicine and a strong record of operational leadership, strategic partnership, and organizational stewardship. In her current role as Associate Administrator for the Divisions of General Internal Medicine (including the JHH Palliative Care Section) and Addiction Medicine, Kate has been a trusted leader and collaborator, providing thoughtful guidance across financial management, faculty and staff support, space and resource planning, and day-to-day administrative operations. Her work has been instrumental in advancing divisional priorities while maintaining a strong focus on people, process, and mission.
In this new role, Kate will provide senior-level administrative leadership in support of the DOM Director and the central DOM leadership team. She will help drive strategic initiatives across the Department and partner closely with divisional and institutional leaders to ensure operational excellence and continuity, fiscal responsibility, and alignment with the Department’s academic, clinical, and research goals. Kate’s institutional knowledge, collaborative leadership style, and steady approach to complex challenges position her well to support the evolving needs of the Department of Medicine.
We are excited to continue working with her in this expanded capacity and look forward to the perspective and continuity she will bring to the Director’s Office.
