Sherita Golden, executive vice chair and professor in the Division of Endocrinology, was selected as the 2019 University of Virginia Distinguished Alumna by the UVA Maxine Platzer Lynn Women's Center. This award was established in 1991 to honor alumnae whose contributions at the highest level in their fields reflect the spirit of excellence and the ethic of service for which a UVA education stands. Sherita was recognized as an expert in diabetes research and care as well as for her inspirational leadership and focus on health disparities and community needs. She will be honored at a luncheon in her honor on Friday, April 26 in Charlottesville.
