Jeanne Clark, professor and director of the Division of General Internal Medicine, recently accepted an invitation to serve as the co-chair of the Look AHEAD study. This study is a multicenter randomized, 12-year NIH clinical trial to examine the effects of a lifestyle intervention designed to achieve and maintain weight loss over the long term through decreased caloric intake and exercise. She will serve in this role along with Rena Wing, PhD, director of the Weight Control & Diabetes Research Center at The Miriam Hospital in Rhode Island.
