The Biomedical Odyssey Blog is where Johns Hopkins School of Medicine trainees share stories about daily life in the classroom, their experiences with residency, research they're working on, the best parts about living in Baltimore and tips for future medical students, trainees and researchers. Apply to become a writer if you have a love of writing, want to share your story with others or want to pursue science writing in parallel with your degree.
Biannually, a cohort of bloggers is selected to commit to writing approximately one blog post per month. Bloggers work with a student editor and the Johns Hopkins Medicine marketing and communications team to brainstorm, edit and post their work.
A true testament to the talents of the writers, the Biomedical Odyssey Blog has won several national awards since its launch in 2015: an Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Institutional Advancement Award for Excellence in the integrated advancement category, Silver and Gold Aster Awards and a Bronze Digital Health Award.
If you’re interested, please send your application to [email protected] by Monday, January 27. You can also contact the Biomedical Odyssey editorial team about opportunities for guest blogging.
