Dr. Garima Sharma, assistant professor in the Division of Cardiology, was nominated to be on the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Statement on Maternal Health Policy. The panel discuss policies and produce guidelines that will be released in 2021.
This is the third AHA guideline panel in which Dr. Sharma has been asked to participate. Her portion of the statement will be formulating a key portion of this statement on maternal mortality and cardiovascular disease. AHA has finally commissioned this important health policy statement that we hope will make a big difference in the lives of mothers.
