Members of the DOM Honored at ATS Conference

The American Thoracic Society (ATS) held its annual conference in Washington, D.C. in May and members of the Department of Medicine were well represented at the event.

Ziskind Clinical Research Scholar Award

Dr. Chad Hochberg, fellow in the Division of Pulmonary, received the ATS 2023 Ziskind Clinical Research Scholar Award for his work using real-world data to understand variations in practices of prone positioning and mechanical ventilation in the ICU.

Jo Rae Wright Award

Dr. Karthik Suresh, associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care, received the Parker B. Francis Jo Rae Wright Award for Scientific Excellence. He was selected by the Parker B. Francis Fellowship Program of the Francis Family Foundation in recognition his outstanding mentoring and professional leadership qualities as well as the creativity and promise of his research.

Dr. Corrine Kliment, former Hopkins Pulmonary fellow, received the Parker B. Francis Jo Rae Wright Early Investigator Award.

Early Career Achievement Award

Dr. Alison Turnbull, associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, received the 2023 Early Career Achievement Award from the ATS Critical Care Assembly. This award recognizes a junior faculty with exemplary achievements in critical care and who demonstrates clear promise for a future of sustained productivity.

Clinical Year in Review

During the ATS Clinical Year in Review series, Dr. Michelle Sharp, assistant professor, provided the review on Sarcoidosis, and Dr. Sean Agbor, adjunct associate professor, provided the review on Lung Transplant. The Clinical Year in Review is available here to download.
