Niranjan-Azadi Named Associate Program Director of the Osler Medical Residency

Dr. Ashwini Niranjan-Azadi has been named the next Associate Program Director for Coaching of the Osler Medical Residency. She will succeed Dr. Michael Melia, who created the coaching program eight years ago.

Dr. Ashwini Niranjan-Azadi is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at JHH. She earned her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed her residency training in the Osler Medical Residency in 2016. Dr. Niranjan-Azadi holds numerous medical education roles, including serving as the Faculty Development Director for the Division of Hospital Medicine, an Associate Clerkship Director for Internal Medicine, and a Clinical Coach for the Osler Residency Program since 2022. She serves on multiple national education committees, including the Clerkship Directors of Internal Medicine (CDIM) Program Planning Committee, Society of Hospital Medicine Education Committee, and the Society of General Internal Medicine Academic Hospitalist Commission. She has received numerous accolades for her education roles, including the 2024 Institute of Excellence in Education Outstanding Educator Award for Teaching and Facilitating Learning (Faculty Less than 10 Years) and the 2025 National CDIM Early Career Medical Student Educator Award.

We are grateful to Dr. Melia for his many years of service to the Osler Program. The program is better and stronger due to his efforts.
