B’more Kidney Science Forum

We are pleased to announce the inaugural B'more Kidney Science Forum, a collaborative event hosted by the Johns Hopkins O'Brien Center to Advance Kidney Health and the Maryland Polycystic Kidney Disease Core Center, taking place on Friday, October 2, 2026.

The Forum will bring together kidney researchers from across both institutions to showcase ongoing work, learn about the breadth of kidney research being conducted in Baltimore, and foster new collaborations across our scientific community.

Forum Overview

The B'more Kidney Science Forum is an opportunity for kidney researchers from Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland to come together and connect with colleagues. The program will feature a keynote speaker as well as lightning talks from investigators representing a range of basic, translational, and clinical research areas, and discussion groups offering opportunities to learn about ongoing projects and spark new collaborations.

The Forum goals are to:

  1. Showcase kidney research at Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland.
  2. Foster connections between nephrology and fields not traditionally engaged in kidney science.
  3. Identify opportunities for future research and research training collaborations between our institutions.
