Sanofi iAwards Program Initiative

Sanofi and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine will launch the Sanofi Innovation Awards (Sanofi iAwards) program, on Wednesday, June 10 from 5-6 p.m. in the Sheikh Zayed Tower, room 2119A. The event is open to everyone and will be followed by a reception.

Sanofi is a leading global healthcare company engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and marketing of innovative therapeutic solutions aimed at improving people’s lives. Sanofi Global R&D is currently developing innovative vaccines and medicines to treat diabetes, cardiovascular disease, rare disease, immune mediated disease, cancer, infectious disease, neurodegenerative disease and animal health. To continue to bring new and effective medicines to patients, Sanofi is committed to accelerating the translation of innovative academic ideas into breakthrough therapeutic solutions with measurable impact on health outcomes. The program will be launched by Dr. Paul Rothman and Elias Zerhouni, president of Sanofi R&D.

The Sanofi iAwards program brings together seven world-class academic institutions and is intended to:

  • Provide seed funding for early innovative, translational, cross-disciplinary research ideas in line with Sanofi’s strategic areas of interest
  • Build strong relationships and networks with researchers and senior leadership at Sanofi and participating universities to share and problem solve biopharma innovation challenges
  • Accelerate the conversion of innovative discoveries to therapeutic solutions
