The Association of American Physicians is a professional organization founded in 1885 by seven physicians, including our own Dr. William Osler, for the advancement of scientific and practical medicine. Since then, the organization has celebrated the contributions of physician scientists to medicine, and many Hopkins professors are members. Dean Rothman is the immediate past President, and David Thomas, professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, is an elected councillor. Outstanding scientific advances are presented during an annual meeting, and there is a forum for discussing the latest developments in academic medicine. If you are interested in learning more, please visit: http://aap-online.org/ or contact David Thomas ([email protected]), or another member. The annual nomination season is open and ends October 15.
