2022 Annual Women in Medicine Sponsorship Award Dinner

The 2022 Annual Women in Medicine Sponsorship Awards Dinner was held on May 31, 2022 at the Residence Inn by Marriott at Johns Hopkins. This year's keynote speaker was Janet Bickel, a leadership and career development coach and consultant and adjunct assistant professor in medical education at the George Washington University School of Medicine. She delivered an insightful talk entitled "Having Your Commitments Instead of Your Commitments Having You: Nurturing Resilience and Rewiring Notions of Success.”

DOM Task Force on Women's Academic Careers in Medicine Susan M. MacDonald, MD Sponsorship Award

This award recognizes DOM faculty who have demonstrated a commitment to supporting and advancing women faculty and fellows by acting as a sponsor. A sponsor is a person in a position of influence (with access to networks and resources) who actively supports the career advancement of another individual. This year, the task force recognized five individuals:

  • Mark Anderson, professor in the Division of Cardiology and director of the DOM
  • Roger Blumenthal, professor in the Division of Cardiology and director of the Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease
  • Sara Cosgrove, professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program
  • Daniel Ford, professor in the Division of GIM; director or the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research and vice dean for clinical investigation
  • Rachel Levine, professor in the Division of GIM and associate dean for faculty educational development
